View of beautiful mountain panorama in the Bernese Oberland

Around the Wildstrubel, you'll encounter an authentic Swiss lifestyle! This mountain range lies in the border region between the cantons of Bern and Valais. In addition to crossing notable passes and enjoying breathtaking mountain scenery, you'll hike through green alpine meadows, enchanting valleys, and along historic irrigation channels during the seven-day journey. During this time, you'll get to experience the hospitality of the Swiss people, and you shouldn't leave the country without sampling various types of cheese and chocolate. Feeling tempted by fondue? You've certainly earned it after covering all those kilometers!

You start in Crans-Montana in the French-speaking part of Valais and cover around 23 kilometers on the first stage to Leukerbad. From the outset, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including along the route to the Gemmipass. On Day 4, you'll tackle the mountain pass of Bunderchrinde, followed by a descent to the renowned winter sports destination of Adelboden.

Landscaped highlights of the region include the Chuenisbärgli, where the penultimate stage leads, as well as the enchanting Simmental. The finale of your journey promises another adventure: After the Rawilpass and Lac de Tseuzier, you'll encounter the suspension bridge along the historic waterway of Bisse du Ro.

  • The hanging bridge at the Bisse du Ro: In Valais, the term "Suonen" (or "Bisses" in French) refers to historical waterways that were used for agricultural irrigation and also for drinking water supply. Along the Bisse du Ro, you'll hike along wooden walkways clinging to rock walls and across a 124-meter-long suspension bridge.
  • The picturesque Simmental valley: Perhaps you've already heard of the Simmental cattle breed? Beautiful, distinctive farmhouses and homesteads characterize the landscape in the Simmental. Agriculture is prevalent in this area, giving rise to tasty culinary specialties among other things.
  • Swiss comfort and hospitality: After the long trekking stages, you can relax in your accommodation. The Swiss are a friendly and patient people who enjoy hosting guests. Whether in Crans-Monatana or Adelboden, the beautiful mountain villages are a wonderful place to enjoy your time.

The ascent to spectacular Alpine passes makes this walking vacation unforgettable - the spectacular panoramas ensure this. Treat yourself to some relaxation in the Alpentherme spa in Leukerbad, admission is included in the price of your stay.

Do you associate Switzerland with Heidi, cuckoo clocks, and yodeling? While that's true, the country offers a much greater diversity - especially when it comes to hiking! Arrival in Crans-Montana

Your hiking route begins with a steep ascent to Bisse de Tsittoret, which leads into an exciting hike to Leukerbad. Views of the four-thousand-metre snow-covered Valais peaks will amaze you during the tour and round off the hiking day perfectly.

The escarpment above Leukerbad was long considered impassable, but as early as 1739 a path was carved up to the Gemmi Pass. The tour up the Gemmi is an absolute highlight. At the top, a fantastic panorama awaits you and a long descent into the Bernese Oberland.

Today there is a steep ascent to the Bunderspitz ahead of you. However, once you have conquered this, you can enjoy the impressive view of the surrounding mountain peaks and valleys, including the Albula Valley and the Engadine. After a short rest, the descent to Adelboden follows.

You start the hike along the Via Alpina to Silleren, where you can take the cable car to Sillerebüel. Then you continue your hike to the Hahnenmoospass. The Simmental is considered one of the most beautiful mountain valleys in Switzerland and is officially also the home municipality of the Wildstrubel.

A transfer takes you to Iffigenalp, from where you ascend almost 1,000 meters in altitude to the Rawil Pass. Across the cantonal border back into Valais and pass the imposing dam wall of Lac de Tseuzier. The Bisse du Ro is an adventurous highlight at the end of this hike
