The Bernina Pass marks the first highlight of your hiking adventure. From Alp Grüm, revel in the breathtaking views of the Poschiavo Valley and the majestic Piz Palü. In Val Roseg, you compete with the glaciers for glory. From the Fuorcla Surlej, you’ll make your way to Murtel. After that challenging climb, the cable car ride offers a much-needed breather. Spending the night in Silvaplana, by its stunning lake, is pure bliss before you tackle the final leg of your adventure. You’ll trek along the scenic trail to Sils Maria and the breathtaking Maloja Pass. If you're up for it, the hike can wrap up with an exhilarating boat ride.

Arrival in Poschiavo

By train to Cadera, where your hike to the Bernina Pass begins. The red trains of the Rhaetian Railway show you the way up to Alp Grüm. Views of the peaceful Val Poschiavo and the ice masses on Piz Palü accompany you from here on your way to Lago Bianco, on whose shores you spend the night.

First leisurely along the lakes of the Bernina Pass and then steeply uphill to the turquoise-blue Lej da Diavolezza. Then past the mountain hut and up to Munt Pers. According to legend, a mountain fairy once lived here who gave her name to the Diavolezza and the nearby Morteratsch valley. But you will also be enchanted by the view of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. After climbing to the summit, descend to almost 3,000 meters and spend the night in the mountain hut.

The mountain railroad saves you a few meters in altitude today and takes you back down to the valley. An idyllic path leads you into the Val da Fain, where you hike in serpentines up to Fuorcla Pischa. Countless lakes accompany you on your descent to Pontresina today. If you wish, you can shorten the tour from Alp Languard by cable car.

The gleaming white glaciers in Val Roseg make your heart beat faster. The ascent to Fuorcla Surlej will also get your pulse racing. Here, the full splendor of the Engadin spreads out before you. Unobstructed views of the lakes of Sils and Silvaplana and the proud peaks and glaciers of the Bernina group. From Murtel, take the cable car down to your destination.

The cable car takes you back to the clear mountain air. From Murtel, you follow a high-altitude trail that takes you gently down to Sils-Maria. Connoisseurs end the tour with a boat trip - the hike past Grevasalvas, the location of the first Heidi film, is no less enjoyable. The destination of your journey: the Maloja Pass.
