Hiking group at Lake Hallstatt

The mountains and picturesque villages in the Salzkammergut are among the most beautiful scenic treasures in the world. Enchanting lakes invite you to bathe or take a boat ride, and living traditions take you back to times long past. UNESCO has also recognised this uniqueness and awarded the Hallstatt region the title of Natural and World Heritage Site. Like Empress Sissi once did, you too should enjoy the tempting cakes and tarts in stylish confectioneries and taste the culinary delights of the region.

Even the journey to your starting point for this five-day hiking tour is a highlight, because you can already guess in what magnificent natural landscape you will spend your coming days. After arriving at the Wolfgangsee, you can start your time-out with a refreshing dive into the lake or a walk through idyllic St. Wolfgang. Your first hiking stage takes you on good hiking paths to the Schwarzensee, the Bürglstein and the lakeside promenade in Strobl. After a short bus ride, you will reach your overnight destination today, Bad Ischl. The following day, you will walk along a historic salt pipeline trail to Bad Goisern. You still have energy and want to continue hiking? Then the mountain tour on the high trail of the "Ewige Wand" is just the thing for you. On your last hiking stage, you will experience the Sissi Trail to Lake Nussensee and along the Ischl you will return to the Wolfgangsee.

  • Perfect time out with children: Because of the good hiking paths and easy route this tour in the Salzkammergut is also wonderful as hiking holiday with children.
  • Hiking holiday with charm: Even more charm and a bit of extra comfort awaits on the Lake Walking in Austria’s Salzkammergut with Charm. You stay overnight in special hotels selected with great sensitivity and relax after the hike in the wonderful wellness facilities of your accommodation.

From the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hallstatt-Dachstein Salzkammergut, to the imperial town of Bad Ischl or the wonderful lake area around Lake Wolfgang – the days in the fresh air and in the middle of this region of pleasure will enchant you.
