  • Bozburun is a charming little coastal village on the peninsula of the same name. Renowned for its traditional gulet shipyard, it serves as a hub for building and repairing these classic Turkish wooden sailboats. The tranquil, unspoiled bay and crystal-clear waters make Bozburun a favored destination for sailors and those seeking serenity.
  • The Gulf of Gökova lies on the southwestern coast of Turkey, nestled between the Bodrum and Marmaris peninsulas. It is renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty and the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea. The bay is lined with picturesque coastal villages, lush pine forests, and pristine beaches.
  • Phoenix is beautifully situated along the Lycian coast, showcasing impressive ruins, including sections of the city walls, ancient tombs, and remnants of buildings that provide insight into the life and architecture of that era. The ancient city is especially renowned for its well-preserved Lycian rock tombs, carved into the surrounding cliffs, which strikingly reflect the burial culture of the Lycians.

The loop hikes stretch up to 17 kilometers, offering you breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea along the way. Day
01
Arrival in Bozburun

After a short drive to an enchanting viewpoint above the village of Sögüt, your hike leads down to the charming fishing village of Sögüt. From there, you follow the idyllic stretch of coastline to the hamlet of Cumhuriyet and continue over a secluded pass to the historic Bozburun shipyard.

Today begins in the village of Selimiye. Here you can cool off in the refreshing waters of the sea as soon as you arrive or enjoy a coffee in one of the village's many cozy cafés. The hike then starts along the coast of Selimiye and leads in a semi-circle over a gentle hill to Bozburun, always accompanied by breathtaking views of the azure waters of the Aegean.

Your hike begins in the ancient Carian city of Phoenix, the remains of which are impressive despite their age. It is worth taking a look at the hilltop city to admire the masterful stonework of the Carians. You then hike to two viewpoints that offer breathtaking views of the sea and the surrounding islands, including Rhodes and Symi in the distance. The hike finally ends in the charming village of Taslica.

In the morning, you will be taken to the farming village of Bahceli. From there, you gradually reach a saddle via a terraced high valley. A panoramic path that runs high above the coast opens up wide views over the deep blue Aegean Sea. After reaching the coastal town of Selimiye, you will be transferred to Akyaka, where you will spend the next three nights.

Starting from Akyaka, the hike stretches mainly through extensive, ancient forests along the coastal slopes. Along the way, there are always beautiful views of the picturesque bay of Gökova. After your hike, you will return to Akyaka via a transfer from a coastal restaurant.

At first, the trail leads from the village of Yenice into the dense, lush forest. Soon after, the route changes to narrower hiking trails, which give you the feeling of being completely in the untouched wilderness. Through the small village of Kuyucak, you briefly hike back into the forest via a paved section. The highlight of this hike is the pass shortly before the descent, where you are rewarded with a panoramic view of the Gulf of Gökova. Your hiking tour ends with a final descent down to Akyaka.
