Hiker on the Riederstein with a view of Lake Tegernsee

What’s typically Bavarian? Beer gardens with chestnut trees and a hearty meal. Or glittering lakes with excellent water quality, perfect for cooling down. The mountains, such as the Hirschtal-Sattel, the Gindelalm, the Taubenstein and the Wendelstein, which you pass on this hiking tour, are also typically Bavarian. You will see: after a week of hiking with Eurohike, you will have completely absorbed the Bavarian lifestyle between the mountains and lakes. After all, you really only get to know a region while on foot!

The hiking holiday in the south of Germany is very comfortable and, above all, very promising. Every day you experience a little bit more of Bavaria, every day a new mountain, a new alpine pasture or a new lake. Do not miss large or small bodies of water – such as the Tegernsee, Schliersee or the picturesque Spinzingsee. You won’t want to take off your hiking boots for eight days.

  • The best views from the ship and cable car: whether crossing the Tegernsee, in the cable car up the Taubenstein or down from the Wendelstein – the cable car and boat trips are included!
  • Bavaria’s city gems: Bad Tölz and Bayrischzell are among the prettiest cities in the Free State, where the Bavarian attitude to life is still real and authentic. Let yourself enjoy the famous cosiness!
  • Pure alpine indulgence: When you cast your gaze over lush alpine meadows with mountain herbs and the palate is delighted with a typical snack, you are in the right place – namely an alpine pasture.

Spend the first hours of your walking holiday in the small town of Bad Tölz, perhaps with a crispy pretzel and a walk along the Isar. Over the next few days you can expect hikes between six and 17 kilometres in length, which last around three to five hours. The consistently easy hikes lead along good hiking trails and forest roads. You should plan enough breaks to swim in the lakes or to let your mind wander in nature! You will receive exact route details and maps from Eurohike before your trip.
